arugula
Hello,
For those who ordered arugula, you might find it looking less than lively by the time you get it. Although handled in the usual way, it seems all the rain may have actually prevented it from taking up water out in the field and so when I harvested it and placed the bunches in water this morning it didn’t maintain it’s usual vigor.
Or maybe it took up too much water in the field….In any case, I hope you still find it tasty. If it’s a problem please let me know.
Also, some of you might wonder about the small holes that’s in the arugula sometimes. They’re caused by the ever-present and persistent flea beetle that at times gets under the protective row cover we use. There’s no good organic antidote that I’ve ever found, but the holes seem a small price to pay for avoiding a chemical spray. Hopefully you agree.
Thanks for your orders and I hope you enjoy the veggies.
Good to see the sun!
